Home Invasion Suspects Captured After Massive Manhunt

Four suspected home invasion robbers were taken into custody following a pursuit and nearly two-hour manhunt that prompted freeway closures and school lockdowns Thursday in Artesia.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on August 20, 2026, LAPD’s Special Investigation Section was tracking a group of four suspects believed to be connected to multiple home invasion robberies across Los Angeles County.

According to information provided at the scene, the group allegedly committed another home invasion in the 1700 block of Jersey Avenue in Artesia before officers attempted to stop their vehicle.

The suspects pulled into a gas station and all four allegedly fled on foot. Three were quickly taken into custody, while a fourth escaped, triggering a large-scale search.

An LAPD helicopter requested assistance as authorities established a perimeter near the 91 Freeway and Pioneer Boulevard. The outstanding suspect was believed to have fled onto the freeway, prompting a request to temporarily stop traffic in both directions.

Multiple schools in the area were placed on lockdown as officers searched for the suspect. Deputies also assisted with the perimeter and checked vehicles leaving the area.

Nearly two hours later, an LAPD SWAT and K9 team located the final suspect hiding in brush near a freeway ramp around 12:40 p.m. He was taken into custody without further incident.

All four suspects were ultimately detained. Additional information regarding the alleged home invasion robberies and potential charges was not immediately available.
