Group Runs Out Of Nike Store With Bags Of Merchandise

A group of four masked males was seen running from a Nike store with bags of merchandise late Monday night near Century Boulevard and Alameda Street in the Watts area of Los Angeles.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. on September 7, 2026. A photographer who happened to be in the area noticed the group putting on masks and walking toward the Nike store. By the time he began recording, the group was already running from the business carrying trash bags filled with merchandise.

The group continued running eastbound on 97th Street. No getaway vehicle was observed.

A store security guard said the business has been repeatedly targeted and claimed the same group of teens has been responsible for previous thefts. The guard also said the suspects appear to enter the store already knowing which merchandise they intend to take. Those claims have not been independently confirmed by police.

The security guard further claimed that the Los Angeles County district attorney had previously visited the store and discussed the ongoing theft problem.

LAPD was notified while the theft was occurring, but officers had not arrived at the store as of 12:08 a.m. No arrests or suspect descriptions beyond those observed at the scene were immediately available.
