Suspicious Powder Prompts HazMat Response At Pennsylvania Bank
A suspicious powder discovered inside a bank prompted a HazMat response Wednesday afternoon in Franconia Township, Montgomery County.
Franconia Township Police and emergency crews responded around 1 p.m. on September 10, 2026, to Univest Bank near Harleysville Pike and Allentown Road.
According to preliminary scanner traffic, fire, EMS and the Bucks County Hazardous Incident Response Team were dispatched after two people reportedly began feeling sick following a possible exposure to the unknown substance.
Authorities were working to identify the powder and determine whether it posed a hazard. The conditions of the two people reportedly experiencing symptoms were not immediately available.
No additional information regarding how the substance was discovered or how it arrived at the bank was immediately available.
