SWAT Arrest Ends Hours-Long Standoff At Long Beach Gas Station

An hours-long SWAT standoff at a Long Beach gas station ended with the safe arrest of an armed domestic violence suspect early Tuesday morning.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. on June 30, 2026, Long Beach Police responded to the Sinclair gas station in the 5500 block of Long Beach Boulevard after a woman fled into the business seeking help.

According to radio traffic and police callouts, the woman told officers she had been assaulted by a man who was riding with her in the vehicle. She also reported that the suspect was armed with a firearm.

As officers arrived, the suspect remained inside the vehicle, prompting Long Beach Police to request the SWAT team.

SWAT officers established a perimeter around the gas station and deployed BearCat armored vehicles and drone technology to safely monitor and communicate with the suspect.

Several customers and bystanders were forced to leave their vehicles and were not allowed to return to the area for several hours while the tactical operation continued.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers took the suspect into custody without further incident.

No injuries were reported during the standoff.

The investigation remains ongoing.
