Big Rig Carrying 43,000 Pounds Of Cheese Overturns In Lancaster
Two people were critically injured and a third was hospitalized after a big rig collided with a minivan and overturned into a front yard Monday night in Lancaster.
The crash was reported at approximately 10:33 p.m. on September 1, 2026, near 90th Street East and Avenue E.
First responders arrived to find the big rig on its side in the front yard of a residence, with occupants reportedly trapped inside the minivan.
The big rig was hauling approximately 43,000 pounds of cheese at the time of the collision. The crash also knocked down a power pole, and the truck was reported to be leaking more than 50 gallons of fuel.
Two people were transported to hospitals in critical condition. A third person was transported in stable condition.
The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
