Fiery Wrong-Way Crash Leaves Two Dead In Houston
Two people were killed in a suspected wrong-way crash that shut down the westbound Beltway 8 Toll Road late Tuesday night in Houston.
The collision occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. on September 1, 2026, near Telephone Road.
According to preliminary radio traffic, the crash involved two vehicles and a suspected wrong-way driver. At least one of the vehicles caught fire following the collision.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Harris County Constable Precinct 7 advised motorists to avoid the area, reporting that all westbound lanes of the Beltway 8 Toll Road at Telephone Road were closed for the fatal crash investigation. Precinct 7 was assisting Harris County Constable Precinct 2 with the investigation.
Authorities had not released additional information regarding the victims or circumstances surrounding the collision.
