Pickup Flips After Slamming Into Car In Bellflower

A pickup truck driver was hospitalized after a violent rollover crash destroyed a traffic signal pole and bus stop early Monday morning in Bellflower.

At approximately 1:27 a.m. on August 31, 2026, deputies and paramedics responded to Lakewood Boulevard and Foster Road following reports of a rollover collision.

Preliminary information indicated the white pickup was traveling northbound on Lakewood Boulevard at a high rate of speed when it clipped the rear of a Honda Civic. The pickup continued out of control, striking a traffic signal pole and bus stop before overturning and coming to rest upside down in a nearby mechanic lot.

The pickup driver was outside the vehicle when first responders arrived and was transported to St. Francis Medical Center with unknown injuries. He appeared conscious and was speaking at the scene.

The female driver of the Honda was not injured and declined medical transport. The bus stop was unoccupied when the crash occurred.

Crews worked to clear debris from the area while traffic signal technicians responded to repair the damaged infrastructure.

Alcohol was being considered as a possible factor, but that had not been confirmed. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
