Massive 6-Alarm Warehouse Fire Sparks Arson Investigation

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 7th, 2026, multiple fire agencies responded to a massive warehouse fire at a Kimberly-Clark distribution center near South Hellman Avenue and Merrill Avenue in Ontario.

First-arriving crews encountered heavy fire conditions and quickly requested additional resources as flames spread through the approximately one-million-square-foot facility. Fueled by paper products inside, the fire escalated to a six-alarm incident, drawing a large multi-agency response.

By around 5:00 a.m., firefighters transitioned to a defensive strategy, using ladder trucks to battle the intense blaze from the exterior. Despite the size of the fire, crews were able to keep it contained to the warehouse. Nearby residents reported feeling intense heat from the flames.

All employees inside the building were able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities confirmed the fire is being investigated as an arson case, and one suspect, identified as a warehouse employee, was taken into custody and is awaiting questioning by investigators.

Officials later advised that ash from the fire was impacting air quality in the area, urging children and seniors to remain indoors.
