Van Nuys: Grass Fire Burns Eight New Cars

10.08.2019 | 12:12 AM | LOS ANGELES – A grass fire spread to an overflow lot and burned eight new cars, early Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a grass fire to the rear of a business located in the 15300 block of Oxnard Street around in the Van Nuys area around 12:12 AM.

Authorities arriving on scene located a grass fire that quickly spread to a nearby parking lot.

The lot, which appeared to be an overflow parking area for Keyes Honda, was packed with new cars which caught fire.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames but at least eight cars were seriously damaged as a result of the fire.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
