High Tide Flooding Swamps PCH In Sunset Beach And Long Beach

High tide brought another round of significant coastal flooding to Sunset Beach and Long Beach Tuesday morning, covering roadways, sidewalks, and residential areas.

On October 27, 2026, flooding along Pacific Coast Highway in Sunset Beach was noticeably worse than the previous day.

A time-lapse recorded near the Best Western captured approximately two hours of rising water in just 18 seconds, showing flooding spread from one lane to the entire roadway.

Water stretched from sidewalk to sidewalk along portions of PCH.

Multiple reports indicated homes along Bayview Drive in Huntington Harbour had flooded. Huntington Beach firefighters and lifeguards were observed responding with rafts and emergency vehicles.

Meanwhile, around 10 a.m., high tide flooded walkways and portions of streets near Bayshore Beach on Naples Island in Long Beach.

City crews had water pumps positioned to help manage the flooding.

The full extent of property damage remains unknown.
