North Hollywood: Truck Fire Snarls Morning Traffic

01.02.2020 | 4:50 AM | LOS ANGELES – A box truck that became engulfed in flames caused heavy congestion for morning commuters, Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the Northbound SR-170 Freeway near Burbank Boulevard in the North Hollywood area around 4:50 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a 30-foot box truck engulfed in flames began efforts to extinguish the flames.

It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to douse the fire but traffic came to a snarl as multiple lanes were closed to accommodate firefighting efforts.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
