Driver Killed After Car Slams Into Parked Semi In Moreno Valley

At least one person was killed after a car crashed head-on into a parked semi-truck early Tuesday morning in Moreno Valley.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department and Moreno Valley-area crews responded around 3:11 a.m. on October 6, 2026, to Heacock Street near Poppycock following reports of a traffic collision with a vehicle on fire and an occupant trapped.
When first responders arrived, they found a car that had crashed head-on into a parked semi-truck. At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies established a crime scene around the collision as investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Deputies said Heacock Street between Meyer Drive and Gentian Avenue would remain closed during the investigation.
It was not immediately clear why the collision was being held as a crime scene or what led up to the crash. Additional information has been requested from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
