Stubborn 90-Year-Old Refuses To Leave Fire | Deer Springs

03.06.2021 | 11:47 PM | DEER SPRINGS – Firefighters received reports of a residential structure fire late Friday night in the Deer Springs neighborhood. When fire crews arrived on scene, an elderly man and his wife were seen attempting to put out the flames inside their garage using a garden hose (on camera). According to a neighbor, the man is in his 90’s and suffers from leukemia and has been effectively homebound throughout the pandemic. He attempted to re-enter the garage multiple times in order to save his belongings. As fire crews arrived, they were able to negotiate the man away from the home where he briefly struggled with firefighters in a physical altercation as he wanted to assist in suppression efforts. Firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire within about 20 minutes after arriving. Unfortunately, the majority of the mans belongings were ruined by the fire suppression system. That man and his wife were uninjured and will be able to stay at the home as it was not attached to the garage. For licensing, contact info@onscene.tv Follow our other platforms!
