Social Media “Fight Day” at High School Causes 7+ Fights

DETAILS:
- A social media account on instagram “MHS_fights2024” gained too much attention of students prompting at least 7 fights to occur before their lunch period had even started
- The account which gained over 500 followers in just under a few hours gained the interest of staff and the Ventura County Sheriffs Office
- VC Sheriff had nearly a dozen deputies at and around the highschool on standby for any incidents
- At 10:54am Fire Dept and Paramedics were requested to the front office of the high school for students with “assault” injuries.
- It is unknown if any ambulance transports were made
- At least one student was seen in the video being taken away in the back of a police car
- It is unknown if any citations/ arrests were made
- This “Fight Day” comes 2 days after a known suspect entered Moorpark High School property and threatened a staff member with a deadly weapon
- Moorpark is recognized as the 3rd safest city in California
- New video from a fight shows the Moorpark High School Principal, Zaid Bakoo, throw a punch at a female student
