Ambulance Overturned, Sedan In Flames After Serious Crash

Peoria Police and Fire crews from Glendale and Peoria responded to reports of a collision at the intersection of 83rd Ave and Northern around 11:45 PM. Crews arrived on scene and found a Maricopa Ambulance on its side and a sedan engulfed in flames. Additional fire crews were requested to assist with patient triage. Crews quickly extinguished the burning sedan and transported two patients to a local trauma center. At least one of the hospitalized patients was a medic from the overturned Maricopa Ambulance. Patient conditions are unknown. Peoria Police are investigating the incident. The intersection was shut down during the process of the investigation. It is unknown if the intersection has since reopened.
