Azusa Canyon: Serious Injuries After Head-On Crash

04.27.2020 | 2:32 PM | AZUSA CANYON – Five people were injured, three seriously, after a head-on crash, Monday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving two vehicles on East Fork Road just east of the SR-39 Highway around 2:32 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a head-on crash involving a black Chevrolet Colorado and what appeared to be a white Mitsubishi 3000GT and a total of five patients.

Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and determined three of the five patients suffered serious injuries requiring immediate transport.

A rescue helicopter responded to the scene to transport the three most seriously injured while ground ambulances rushed the remaining two to area hospitals with only minor injuries.

The two-lane road was closed in both directions while crews worked to investigate and clear the scene leaving many motorists heading into the city stranded.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
