Massive House Fire Leaves Resident Homeless And With Burn Injuries

AREA/CITY: Blue Jay / Lake Arrowhead
DETAILS:

  1. A large residential fire completely destroyed a home and left a single resident with minor burns and the resident is now homeless.
  2. The fire started at around 11:05 PM right at the blue jay cut off around the border of lake arrowhead.
  3. First responders were dispatched to reports of a residential structure fire with the reporting party stating that a house was completely engulfed.
  4. Upon arriving on scene fire fighters immediately confirmed that they had a large two story house fully involved with one resident that had safely escaped.
  5. The fire fighters did have some access issues as the forest vegetation was heavily over grown and fire fighters had to fight through juvenile pine, cedar, douglas fire and brush to get close to the house.
  6. Once fire fighters successfully made access, they made quick and aggressive attacks on the fire.
  7. Fire fighters were able to call knock down on the fire after about 30 minutes of offensive attack.
  8. Fire fighters were also able to confirm a successful and clear primary search of the building confirming that there were no other residents or animals in the building.
  9. The fire investigator was on scene but was released prior to knock down, however the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
  10. No other injuries were reported and no other details are known at this time.
