Vehicle Hits Hydrant, Rolls Over, Lands In Driveway Driver Trapped & Transported | Upland
A driver was transported to a hospital after loosing control of his car, flying off the road hitting a fire hydrant and landing upside down in someones front yard. First responders were dispatched to reports of a possible vehicle vs fire hydrant on north mountain ave with the possibility of someone trapped. Upon arriving on scene they found a single vehicle with two occupants had crashed into a fire hydrant, rolled over, took out part of a concrete wall and landed in someones driveway. The driver had to be rescued from the vehicle the other occupant appeared to be unharmed. The sheared fire hydrant was reportedly geysering water and flooding the road and the driver way but firefighters were able get the water shut off quickly. The driver was treated in the ambulance and transported to a near by hospital. The vehicle sustained major damage and projectile from the concrete wall actually damaged the home owners vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The crashed vehicle narrowly missed several other vehicles in the driveway and the house itself. The cause of the accident is under investigation but as of now speed appears to be the culprit. Neighbors of the area say that speeding cars leading to major traffic accidents is a normal thing in the area. A resident stated that just a couple weeks ago someone crashed their car into her front yard and missed her house by about 20 ft and the vehicle was actually on fire.
