Pico Rivera: Suspected DUI Driver Takes Off From Police – Caught On Camera

05.28.2019 | 2:20 AM | PICO RIVERA – A suspected DUI driver who was suspected taunting a homeless person fled from multiple police agencies during several pursuits, early Tuesday morning.

Officers from the Whittier Police Department attempted to stop a white hatchback suspected of taunting a homeless person around 12:00 AM. The driver of the vehicle the vehicle fled, and officers ultimately stopped following.

Hours later deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department attempted to stop the same vehicle on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Again, the driver failed to yield and lef officers on a short pursuit before the deputies were told to discontinue the pursuit and allow a helicopter to track the suspect.

Aware he was being tracked, the driver of the vehicle drover under the I-605 on Washington Boulevard in attempt to hide from the helicopter. At one point the driver travels wrong-way while blaring his horn for unknown reasons.

Eventually a California Highway Patrol officer arrived on scene to again attempt a traffic stop on the vehicle who again failed to yield.

A third and final pursuit was initiated and entered several area freeways before the suspect drove to the Pasadena Police Department and surrendered without further incident.
