Fire Rips Through Commercial Building | Garden Grove
04.04.2022 | 11:20 AM | GARDEN GROVE (CNS) – A Spectrum office building was heavily damaged by a three-alarm fire in Garden Grove Monday, but no injuries were immediately reported.
The fire was reported at 11:20 a.m. in the two-story building in the 7400 block of Chapman Avenue, and it took nearly two and a half hours for crews to knock down the flames, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The flames quickly burned through the roof of the building, sending a thick plume of smoke into the air. As the blaze increased in size, OCFA summoned additional crews to the scene.
According to the agency, initial crews went inside the structure to search for anyone who may be trapped inside and to battle the flames from within. But conditions quickly worsened, and the OCFA went into a defensive mode, pulling all crews out of the building and fighting the fire exclusively from the exterior.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the blaze.
