Armed & Dangerous Arsonist Starts Brush Fire | Hesperia
07.29.2022 | 5:30 PM | HESPERIA – Firefighters were faced with difficult access as an armed and dangerous arson suspect started a brush fire near Hesperia.
Firefighters were unable to access due to the dangerous situation, and unconfirmed reports stated the suspect was even firing a weapon.
Multiple structures have caught fire, and the fire is currently 50+ acres burning in heavy fuels.
Video shows large flames and structures on fire.
As of around 7 PM it was reported that the rate of spread had been stopped
San Bernardino County Sheriffs department currently has two male suspects in custody.
Firefighters continue to cut hand line, dozer line, and get hose flanked around the fire as they mop up.
Several structures were completely destroyed 2 of which were homes.
The fire did Jump highway 173 in 2 places and made a strong push but was cut off by a dozer and an engine crew along with a powerful tank presence
The incident is under investigation.
