1 In Custody After Vehicle Barricade Situation

DETAILS:
Phoenix Police officers surrounded a white van occupied by what appeared to be an adult female.
Officers used to 2 marked patrol vehicles to pin the van from the front and rear.
Phoenix Police Tactical Support Bureau units arrived on scene to assist patrol officers.
Verbal commands were issued via a loud speaker, ordering the suspect to exit the vehicle.
The suspect refused to comply and a barricade situation ensued.
Officers deployed several pepper balls into the van, and issued additional commands.
Officers then broke through several windows on the van to visually confirm the suspects location inside the vehicle.
The suspect remained non-compliant, prompting officers to approach the van for a hands on intervention.
Officers opened the passenger side panel door, and made contact with the suspect.
Officers ordered the suspect to exit the vehicle and the suspect refused.
The suspect appeared agitated and became aggressive towards officers as they entered the van.
Officers grabbed the suspect, and the suspect began to resist, leading officers to physically remove her from the vehicle.
Multiple officers then approached and assisted with taking the woman into custody.
Once in custody, Phoenix Fire crews responded to evaluate the suspect for pepper ball exposure and minor injuries sustained while resisting arrest.
The suspect refused hospitalization.
