Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Houston Crash on Highway 6
At approximately 11:00pm on March 8th, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a major traffic collision in the 4100 block of Highway 6 North near Clay Road in Houston.
According to investigators, a wrong-way driver traveling northbound collided with another vehicle traveling in the middle lane. Debris from the crash struck two additional vehicles traveling southbound.
The adult female driver who was traveling the wrong way was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other drivers were transported to local hospitals in stable condition. Authorities confirmed there were only three drivers involved and no passengers.
It was not immediately known whether intoxication was a factor in the crash. Investigators stated the deceased driver had no known history of reckless driving.
The roadway was expected to remain closed while the medical examiner completed their investigation and wreckers cleared the scene.
