Wrong-Way Crash on I-45 Leaves Two Drivers Trapped, One Arrested for DWI

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 1245am 12-5-25
LOCATION: Southbound 45 just North of Dallas
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

1. HPD and HFD responded to reports of a major crash
2. Arriving officers located 2 vehicles, 1 in lanes and the second hanging over the left side of the freeway
3. both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles
4. Officers were able to break the window of one vehicle (red car high centered on the center divider) and pull the driver out before HFD arrived
5. HFD was able to extricate the other driver without incident
6. 1 female is in custody on suspicion of DWI
7. both drivers sustained non life threatening injuries

Per LT Khan (via phone), a female is in custody, and it is believed to be a wrong way crash.
