Wrong Way BMW Driver Dead After Fiery Crash with Cybertruck

LOCATION: Eastbound Katy Freeway East of 610
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:
- HPD and HFD responded to reports of a car fire on the right shoulder
- Arriving companies located 2 vehicles, with one in the right shoulder and on fire
- the second vehicle, a cybertruck, has the front end completely destroyed and facing wrong way in the second from right lane
- occupant of the vehicle on the shoulder never made it out and is deceased
- occupants of the cybertruck have been transported to local trauma centers
- HPD VCD is en route to take over the investigation
- Prelim info is that one of the vehicles may have been driving wrong way, but unknown which at this time
Per Sgt Dallas, BMW driver is the wrong way driver. BMW Struck Cybertruck head on, and the cybertruck then struck an 18 wheeler heading the correct way as well. (Both cybertruck and 18 wheeler were traveling Eastbound) BMW then struck the right shoulder and caught fire. Male driver of BMW deceased inside the vehicle. Male driver of Cybertruck transported in critical condition to the med center. Roadway may remain closed for another 90 min, and drivers are asked to seek alternate routes
