Worker Struck by Flying Tires on Freeway | Fountain Valley

12.30.2020 | 1:08 AM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A freeway construction worker has been hospitalized after a dump truck lost its tire early Wednesday morning, sending it flying into the head of the construction worker.

The contract worker was working in a marked construction area when the dump truck lost its rear tires.

Paramedics arrived and found the construction worker down, however conscious and breathing, within the construction closure.

The worker was taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.

The dump truck’s driver, who was transporting asphalt, remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
