Woodland Hills: One Dead, Another Injured After Suspected Murder-Suicide Attempt

03.12.2020 | 1:06 AM | LOS ANGELES – A woman in her 80s was dead and a man in his 50s was injured after a suspected murder-suicide attempt, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting with two victims down at a home in the 23000 block of Gainford Street in the Woodland Hills area around 1:06 AM.

Units arriving on scene located two victims down suffering from gunshot wounds to their head and shell casing littered across the front lawn.

Firefighter paramedics pronounced one victim, a woman in her 80s, deceased on scene and transported a second, described as a man in his 50s, to Northridge Hospital in unknown condition.

Details remain scant but initial reports indicate that the incident may have been a murder-suicide attempt.

Detectives are on scene continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
