Woman’s Leg Nearly Severed After Crash In San Bernardino

DETAILS:

  1. A woman was seriously injured in a multi vehicle traffic collision and is on her way to emergency surgery after her leg was almost severed in the crash.
  2. At around 9:55 PM first responders were dispatched to reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the south bound side of highway 215 between 5th stand 2nd st exit.
  3. Per CHP cad, one of the victims of the vehicle, a female, upon impact was thrown into the back seat of the vehicle and was trapped.
  4. Upon arriving on scene first responders found a by stander had stopped to help render aid to the female prior to their arrival.
  5. first responders found the female was trapped and had sustained significant damage to one of her legs.
  6. The injurty per the by stander that helped her, said she sustained a significant open fracture and that bone was showing and was bleeding heavily.
  7. Further more the leg appeared to twisted completely around and was hanging by skin.
  8. The victim was extricated from the vehicle and transported by ground ambulance immediately.
  9. The second victim, an elderly male, appeared to be alert and oriented with non life threatening injuries and was also transported.
  10. There were several other vehicles involved in the tc, however they all appeared to have mild damage.
  11. The cause of the incident is unknown.
  12. No further details are known at this time.
