Woman Struck During Street Takeover in South LA

At approximately 4:00 a.m. on April 4th, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a reported street takeover near Western Avenue and Century Boulevard in South Los Angeles.

During the incident, a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle amid the large crowd. As officers arrived to disperse the takeover, individuals at the scene attempted to transport the victim to a hospital but stopped a few blocks away and requested help from responding officers.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and was possibly not conscious or breathing at the time. LAPD classified the incident as a possible “K” injury.

The driver involved did not remain at the scene. The intersection is known for frequent street takeovers, and the initial call for service included reports of gunfire in the area.

The investigation remains ongoing.
