Woman Says She Fatally Shot Husband During Assault In Houston

A 68-year-old man was killed Sunday evening after his wife told deputies she shot him while he was assaulting her at a Houston-area apartment.

The incident was reported around 6:46 p.m. on September 20, 2026, in the 90 block of Uvalde Road.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were initially dispatched to a life-in-danger call. When deputies arrived, they located a 68-year-old man with a gunshot wound and a 50-year-old woman at the scene.

Deputies attempted CPR on the man until EMS arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to preliminary information provided by investigators, the woman told deputies that her husband had been assaulting her when she shot him. Deputies were interviewing her as they worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Investigators said the husband and wife were the only people home at the time of the incident. Their adult daughter arrived at the apartment afterward. No children were inside during the shooting.

At the time information was provided from the scene, deputies had not yet entered the apartment and the investigation remained ongoing.
