Woman On Bike Struck & Killed In Phoenix

Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of pedestrian struck by a vehicle near the 2300 block of West Thunderbird Road around 10:30 PM.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult female cyclist in the westbound lanes of Thunderbird Road.

Officers attempted to render aid until fire crews arrived on scene.

Once on scene, Phoenix Fire personnel pronounced the victim deceased.

It is unknown if the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained on scene.

A hard closure between 24th Drive and 21st Avenue on Thunderbird Road was established for several hours while detectives investigated the incident.
