Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash On Katy Freeway

A woman riding a motorcycle was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer early Thursday morning on the Katy Freeway.

The crash occurred around midnight on September 3, 2026, in the westbound main lanes of Interstate 10 near Mason Road in the Katy area.

According to Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy Chagoya, the woman was traveling westbound when her motorcycle rear-ended a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction.

The rider was separated from the motorcycle during the collision. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators believe failure to control speed was a contributing factor in the crash.

The woman’s identity had not been released pending notification of family.

The crash remains under investigation.
