Woman Killed After Brutal Rollover Crash

DETAILS:

• Scottsdale Police and Fire responded to an accident on Goldwater Boulevard in Old Town Scottsdale early Sunday morning.
• Crews arrived and located a single white car down an embankment on its roof.
• According to witness who spoke off camera:
  The vehicle was driving North on Goldwater Boulevard when it struck the curb before hitting a pole and tree before flipping and coming to a rest upside down.
• The occupant was reportedly trapped and required to be extricated from the vehicle.
• Additional fire units with extrication equipment were dispatched from the cities of Phoenix and Tempe.
• Firefighters began removing the doors on the car to gain access to the inside and begin evaluating the driver.
• According to Scottsdale Fire radio traffic:
  The single female occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead inside of the car.
• Police have closed off Goldwater Boulevard and Highland Ave as detectives work to investigate the collision.
