Woman Found Dead Inside Houston Apartment Under Suspicious Circumstances
Houston homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a woman found inside her apartment Wednesday evening after a concerned friend went to check on her.
On November 4, 2026, at approximately 5 p.m., Houston Police Department Southeast Patrol officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 8400 block of Broadway Street following a report of a person down.
According to HPD Lieutenant Crowson, officers and Houston firefighters arrived and located a woman believed to be in her 30s deceased inside the apartment.
Investigators said a friend had not seen the woman for several days and went to check on her, discovering her body inside a bedroom.
Police described the circumstances surrounding the discovery as unusual, prompting a response from homicide investigators.
Although detectives are investigating the case as a homicide, authorities reported no obvious signs of trauma to the woman’s body.
Investigators also confirmed that the woman lived alone in the apartment.
The exact cause and manner of death have not been determined.
