Woman Fatally Electrocuted After Crash

DETAILS:
- San Diego Fire-Rescue along with San Diego Police responded to a vehicle accident near the 1300 block of Euclid Ave.
- Police learned that a small compact car went up the sidewalk as it was traveling Southbound on Euclid Ave. and struck an electrical box.
- The female driver got out of the vehicle after the collision.
- The passenger attempted to get out of the vehicle and was electrocuted from the sheared electrical box.
- Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly extinguished the fire.
- The female driver was transported to a local hospital with burn injuries.
- Firefighters removed the vehicle from the electrical box and pronounced the passenger deceased on the scene.
- The San Diego Police’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation.

Synopsis:
A 31-year-old female was driving a 2014 Kia Forte southbound on 1300 Euclid Avenue. The Kia veered to the
right, drove over the sidewalk and collided with an electrical box. The driver and passenger (22-year-old
female) of P-1 exited the vehicle. The passenger attempted to push the vehicle off of the electrical box and
was electrocuted. The passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was transported by
ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of minor electrical burns. The driver’s injuries do not appear to
be life threatening. S.D.P.D. Traffic Division responded and is handling the investigation.
