Woman Ejected, Later Dies After High-Speed Crash in Downtown LA

At approximately 2:00am on February 28th, 2026, Los Angeles Police Department officers and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash at 3rd Street and Figueroa Street in downtown Los Angeles.

According to authorities, a white SUV and a white sedan were involved in the collision. A female passenger in the SUV was ejected during the crash and was found unconscious and not breathing. Firefighters performed CPR while transporting her to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the white SUV was evaluated at the scene, given a DUI test, and was arrested for DUI. The driver of the white sedan remained at the scene and was not transported to the hospital. A second ambulance was later requested for a male complaining of head pain.

Friends of the victim were seen at the scene visibly distraught. Authorities stated that a call regarding possible street racing had been made earlier near 2nd Street and Figueroa Street, though it was not confirmed whether it was related to the crash.
