Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI After Fatal Hollywood Crash
A 33-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk along Hollywood Boulevard Sunday night, and the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash occurred around 10:56 p.m. Sunday at Hollywood Boulevard and Cherokee Avenue in the heart of Hollywood’s tourist district, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim Monday as Samuel Brown. His place of residence was not disclosed.
Brown was reportedly in a crosswalk when he was struck as pedestrians walked along the nearby Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Video from the scene showed paramedics performing CPR in an attempt to save Brown before he was pronounced dead. His body was later covered as authorities investigated the scene.
A heavily damaged white vehicle remained at the scene following the collision.
Police said the woman driving the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Additional details regarding the investigation were not immediately available.
