Winnetka: Police Investigate Suspicious Devices Near Metro Station
10.05.2019 | 9:00 PM | LOS ANGELES – Authorities investigated several suspicious devices that turned out to be abandoned anti-theft devices, Saturday night.
Authorities responded to reports of several suspicious devices found near a trash can at a Metro station near the intersection of Desoto Avenue and Victory Boulevard in the Winnetka area around 9:00 PM.
Units arriving on scene located the devices and established a large perimeter while bomb squads responded to the scene.
Using a robot and bomb-sniffing K9s, teams determined the items were anti-theft devices commonly used on merchandise at retail stores.
The devices are not dangerous and were believed to have been abandoned from stolen merchandise.
An investigation is ongoing.
