Whittier: Two Trapped After Sedan Goes Under Semi Trailer

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 12-18-23 | 1:58 a.m.
LOCATION: 605 N & Whittier Blvd
AREA/CITY: Los Angeles
DETAILS:

1. LACoFD & CHP responded to a report of a sedan under a semi trailer
2. Firefighters arrived to locate a Lexus sedan wedged under the back of a semi trailer
3. The driver and passenger were both trapped in the car
4. Crews were able to quickly extricate the driver
5. The passenger was trapped in the car for over 10 minutes
6. Firefighters had to lift the trailer off of the vehicle in order to help extricate the patient
7. Eventually the passenger was freed from the wreckage
8. Firefighters determined the passenger needed to be air lifted so an air squad was requested
9. LACoFD Copter 12 landed on the freeway and took the passenger to USC Hospital
