Whittier: Suspicious Beer Keg Outside Planned Parenthood Cleared By Bomb Squad

03.29.2019 | 9:30 PM | WHITTIER – A bomb squad cleared a suspicious item that turned out to be a beer keg in front of a Planned Parenthood location, Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a suspicious item near the Planned Parenthood at the intersection of Greenleaf Avenue and Walnut Street around 9:30 PM.

Units arriving on scene located the item and began to evacuate nearby businesses.

A bomb squad responded to the scene and used a specialized robot to inspect the object which turned out to be an empty beer keg.

After determining no threat existed officers allowed area businesses to repopulate.
