Whittier: Pro-Police Rally Gets Violent When Counter-Protesters Show Up
07.28.2020 | 6:00 PM | WHITTIER – A pro-police rally got violent and resulted in multiple arrests when a group of counter-protesters showed up, Tuesday evening.
Hundreds of people gathered near the intersection of Mar Vista Street and Washington Avenue for a car parade and rally in support of law enforcement around 6:00 PM.
As the parade was about to begin a group of about 50 counter protesters arrived and began blocking the road.
The counter protesters aggressively engaged police and pro-police supporters results in several clashes.
Several people were detained as a result of the confrontations.
It was unclear if any injuries were reported.
