Whittier: Kogi Food Truck Hands Out Meals To Community To Ease COVID-19 Hardships
03.26.2020 | 11:30 AM | WHITTIER – The Kogi Food Truck with assistance from Ryan Tedder and OneRepublic handed out over 3,000 meals to help community members facing hardships amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Thursday morning.
Roy Choi and his Kogi Food Truck was joined by Ryan Tedder and his band OneRepublic to help feed community members at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Over 3,000 meals were handed out in a drive-thru or walk-up fashion with extra precautions in place to maintain social distancing.
Residents received meals free of charge as an effort to ease hardships amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Choi reported the truck would be heading to additional locations in the coming days, including hospitals and other places of need, as they continued outreach efforts.
