Whittier: Firefighters Quickly Contain Brush Fire
08.06.2019 | 9:56 AM | WHITTIER – Firefighters quickly contained a brush fire that broke out along Turnbull Canyon Road, Tuesday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a brush fire along Turnbull Canyon Road just south of Skyline Drive around 9:56 PM.
Crews arriving on scene located an approximately 1/2 acre brush fire burning in medium brush along a hillside.
The location of the fire made access difficult prompting multiple aerial water drops as crews hiked steep slopes to the scene of the fire.
Within an hour the fire was under control but ground crews were expected to remain on scene for several more hours as they worked to extinguish remaining hotspots.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
