Whittier: Cowboy Sought After Armed Robbery Spree
11.28.2018 | 2:30 AM | WHITTIER – An man wearing a cowboy hat robbed at least two businesses at gunpoint, Wednesday morning.
Police responded to reports of an armed robbery that had occurred at a Denny’s in the 8400 block of South Pioneer Boulevard around 2:30 AM.
Units arriving on scene quickly learned that a white male wearing a black jacket and cowboy hat had barged into the restaurant with a shotgun before demanding cash.
Victims inside complied and the man then fled in a brown pickup truck.
Deputies patrolling the area after the robbery were subsequently flagged down by employees of a 7-11 convenience store in the 8500 block of Telegraph Road in Pico Rivera.
The 7-11 employees reported that a man matching the description of previous robber had entered the business with a shotgun and demanded cash. After employees complied with the man’s demands, he again fled in an older brown pickup truck.
The total sum of the losses was unknown and deputies were actively searching for the suspect who remained at large.
