Whittier: Armed Man Arrested After Reportedly Kidnapping Girlfriend
01.04.2020 | 12:30 PM | WHITTIER – A man was taken into custody more than 16 hours after allegedly forcing his girlfriend out of her home and taking her against her will, Saturday afternoon.
Authorities responded to reports of a woman that reported she had been taken against her will around 10:15 PM.
Officers were unable to immediately located the female or the suspect but nearly 16 hours later at 2:30 PM officers received information that the couple was seen walking near the intersection of Beverly Boulevard and Newlin Avenue.
Units responded to the area in force due to reports that the suspect was armed with a firearm and located the pair in the backyard of a residence.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked on suspicion of kidnapping and domestic violence.
The victim was not seriously injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
