Whittier: 7-Eleven Clerk Murdered During Brazen Robbery
02.22.2020 | 5:49 AM | WHITTIER – A store clerk was gunned down by an armed robber despite complying with the bandits orders, early Saturday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a shooting at the 7-Eleven convenience store located on the corner of Lambert and Santa Fe Springs roads around 5:49 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a store clerk deceased inside the convenience store after an apparent robbery.
A review of surveillance footage inside the store revealed that a man had entered the store with a handgun and demanded cash.
The clerk reportedly complied with the suspect’s demands but was nonetheless gunned down.
Police said there was no struggle and the clerk was shot without provocation.
The suspect, described a male approximately 5′ 6″ to 5′ 7″ wearing a dark-colored hoodie with a light colored shirt underneath, black pants, along with gloves and a bandanna over his face, fled the scene.
The store was closed while officers conducted an extensive investigation.
