Wheelchair Bound Woman Hit and Killed by Driver

LOCATION: N Sam Houston Pkwy E & Greensgate/ Greenspoint
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:
- HPD and HFD responded to reports of a person down
- Arriving units located a wheelchair bound female down in the roadway
- Female was pronounced deceased at scene by HFD
- As VCD units were pulling up to the scene, the driver walked up to the scene on the phone with 911
- DRE/ DWI units are conducting field sobriety tests and Hit&Run is on scene investigating
- At present, it has not been determined who is at fault; Unknown who had the green light, and officers are working to determine how long it took the driver to contact 911 for the injured female.
