Wheelchair-Bound Man Killed In Houston Hit-And-Run

At approximately 9:12 p.m. on June 5, 2026, Houston Police responded to a fatal traffic collision in the 4400 block of Reed Road.

Investigators believe the victim, described as a Black male who was wheelchair-bound, was struck by a vehicle while traveling through the area.

Houston Fire Department personnel responded to the scene, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.

According to investigators, the driver did not stop to render aid or provide information following the collision and fled the area.

Police believe the vehicle involved may be a silver Mazda sedan. A witness at the scene pointed out a possible suspect vehicle to officers, and investigators are actively working to locate the car and identify its driver.

Authorities have not publicly released the victim’s name because a formal identification has not yet been completed, although investigators said they have spoken with family members and have a general idea of the victim’s identity.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue searching for the driver involved in the fatal hit-and-run.
