Westmont: Deputies Investigating After Resident Reportedly Kills Vandal
11.05.2018 | 9:54 PM | LOS ANGELES – Deputies were investigating a shooting incident in Westmont, Monday night.
Sheriff’s deputies responded just before 10:00 PM to the 2100 block of West 109th Place in the Westmont area of Los Angeles reference a shooting.
Further details were scant but initial reports indicate deputies found a man deceased from a gunshot wound to the torso upon their arrival.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim may have been a vandal or trespasser involved in a dispute with the homeowner before the shooting occurred.
A man identified by authorities as the resident of the home was detained for questioning and the weapon used was recovered at the scene.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau is investigating.
