Westminster: Burglary Prompts High-Speed Police Pursuit

12.19.2018 | 2:25 AM | WESTMINSTER – The burglary of a vision center prompted a high-speed police pursuit that netted at least one arrest, Wednesday morning.

Officers with the Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force (LA IMPACT) were conducting surveillance on individuals in a vehicle when they observed the occupants break into a local vision center in the 15000 block of Goldenwest Street around 2:25 AM.

Task force members attempted to conduct a stop on the suspects who quickly fled, leading officers on a lengthy pursuit through several Orange and Los Angeles county freeways.

The pursuit that reached speeds of 100+ MPH ended when suspects exited the freeway and fled from their vehicle near the intersection of 65th and San Pedro Streets in Los Angeles.

One suspect, a black female, was placed into custody during a search of the area.

Another suspect remains outstanding.
